PAS 3000:2015 Working Smart

PAS 3000 provides a strategic framework for modernizing working practices. It was developed in support of The Way We Work initiative, which is a cornerstone of the UK Civil Service Reform Programme, based on the Cabinet Office document The Way We Work – Smart Working in Government, and work undertaken as part of the Smart Working Charter.

The PAS also reflects that Smart Working has become more common in recent years in the private sector, with new technologies supporting more mobility of work; legislation encouraging flexible working; and new trends in workplace design.

Also, to date there has not been a single code of practice that brings together good practice across the disciplines involved: HR, property, and technology. PAS 3000 fills that gap.

Who is this PAS for?

This PAS is for use by the public, private and not-for-profit sectors and by organizations of any size. It will be used by leaders and managers in employing organizations and those charged with implementing Smart Working programmes.

Why should you use this PAS?

It gives recommendations for establishing good practice in the implementation of Smart Working, against which organizations can be benchmarked.

It covers changes to working practices, culture, working environments and associated technology.
