Eurocodes evolution - what will it mean to you?

Event - full

Date: Wednesday 28 Spetember 2016 (12:30-18:30)

Location: The Institution of Structural Engineers, 47 Bastwick St, London

BSI are holding a free, interactive workshop to enable users of the Structural Eurocodes to engage and contribute to the development of the  next generation of Eurocodes.

Structural Eurocodes are the most comprehensive and technologically advanced suite of standards for structural and geotechnical design in the world. They are used by countless engineers worldwide, including more than half a million in Europe alone.

In 2012, work began on the development of the second generation of Structural Eurocodes. The successful evolution of Structural Eurocodes depends on their ability to evolve in an appropriate manner, embracing new methods, new materials, new regulatory requirements and new societal needs. There is also a need for them to become more user-friendly. It is vital that the development process incorporates feedback from practical users of the Structural Eurocodes.

The workshop will feature presentations and discussions led by those with first-hand experience of the Structural Eurocode programme. Attendees will be encouraged actively to participate and contribute their views.

Registered delegates will receive further information on how to contribute to the event beforehand.
