The fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) supply chain is often cited as a source of high emissions and unsustainable practices. However, the industry has been increasingly advancing in more sustainable business practices, including waste reduction and introduction of renewables into the value chain.
Unfortunately, in some areas, the impact of the pandemic has seemingly slowed our progress towards more sustainable production, storage and distribution of consumable products. With a realistic view of our progress up to today, how sustainable is the outlook for the future of this industry?
