MERA Networks Successfully Passes TL 9000 Certification Audit for its Russia-based MERA NN R&D Division.

Toronto, ON, Canada – June 22, 2006 - MERA Networks, a forefront supplier of IT and telecommunication R&D services, has announced that its MERA NN R&D Division based in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, has successfully passed TL 9000 certification audit by BSI Management Systems - the world's largest and oldest management systems registrar.

The certification audit was conducted by a lead assessor of BSI MS with over 40 years of experience in quality management. The TL 9000 assessment was organized for MERA by BSI MS CIS, the division of BSI Management Systems in Moscow, Russia.

Upon a comprehensive and thorough revision that embraced nearly all MERA’s organizational units and respective business processes, the assessor has acknowledged that the MERA Quality Management System (QMS) is compliant with TL 9000 Standard requirements for provision of an outsourced software development, testing and maintenance services.  TL 9000 is the most influential Telecom Industry quality standard developed by the Quality Excellence for Suppliers of Telecommunications (QuEST) Forum as the industry's extension to ISO 9000. The audit has also confirmed MERA’s QMS compliance with ISO 9001:2000 requirements as the baseline for TL 9000.
Prior to the certification audit, MERA had carried out a great amount of preparatory work to bring its quality management policy and practices in line with TL 9000 Standard requirements. MERA designed and documented a set of internal processes to ensure that its R&D operations comply with the guidelines set down by the standard, as well as developed a solid framework for ongoing collection of TL 9000 metrics.

“BSI MS is happy to bring TL 9000 to Russia,” comments Natalia Gorobets, BSI MS CIS General Director. “TL 9000 sets high quality management standards with a focus on telecommunication industry. A successful TL 9000 certification is a testimony to the expertise and service excellence that a telecom business provides. Now, companies like MERA having operations in Russia have an opportunity to excel in quality and services that they bring to their clients globally”.
“Our policy is to meet every customer expectation in terms of quality,” comments Alexey Myakov, Director for Business Development, MERA Networks. “Accordingly, MERA’s management is committed to improving the effectiveness of the company’s QMS by keeping it standardized and reliable. Furthermore, since MERA’s major business is providing telecommunication software development and consultancy services, we initiated an assessment plan to make the MERA QMS more industry-specific.
