Training Certification and Continuing Education

Training Certification and Continuing Education (CEUs) for our public training open enrollment classes.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are an effective way to measure, record, and report a person's participation in continuing education activities. They are a nationally recognized and respected method of granting non-degree credit. Each BSI course is granted CEUs by our organization and participating associations.

BSI assigns one CEU for each hour a course is measured to take. An example is below.

• Environmental Awareness Bootcamp (3.5 Days; 28 hours) = 28 credit hours by BSI.

Different organizations measure CEUs differently so it is important that you check with us or with your organization to see how many continuing education credits participating organizations will assign to each BSI course based on the length, content, delivery method and agenda.

BSI is proud to now offer our students professional continuing educations credits after completing our courses. Once complete and if approved by your EH&S organization, State Bar Association, or Engineering Association you may receive continuing education credits from them. Some of these organization are as follows:

BSI EHS Services and Solutions is also a qualified sponsoring organization affiliated with the Practicing Institute of Engineering (PIE). BSI provides PIE-approved training courses that allow for licensed Professional Engineers in New York State to obtain their PDH's (Professional Development Hours). All PIE-approved courses are HSW-approved for AIA. In addition, CM's (Continuing Maintenance Points) are offered for CIH's and CSP's.

Students may submit their course certificate to other EH&S associations for continuing education credits for approval. If you have an association that you would like us to contact for accreditation, please contact us at training@bsigroup.com. We will submit all needed paperwork to get you your CEU's for your organization.

Our Environmental Bootcamp and other classes have been submitted to many state bar associations for CLE approval, such as Texas, Louisiana, Colorado, and South Carolina. If you need us to submit to another state, please contact us at 1 800 863 4977 or email training@bsigroup.com and we will work with you to submit needed information and paperwork to get you your CLE's.

Since CEUs are not equivalent to academic credit, they are considered non-degree units of credit. However, some colleges and universities accept CEUs. Please check with your institution or State's Department of Education for details.
