As today’s proliferation of cyber threats, vulnerabilities and exploits continue to grow it is important for everyone to accept this as a price we pay for the extensive functionality the internet brings. This trend is due to not only continue but expand massively as the Internet of Things (IoT) moves from its current embryonic phase through to mainstream adaptation in the coming years as cloud computing did in the last several years. With this in mind senior management globally are adapting strong security postures in their corporate environments by employing best in class technologies, providing security awareness training and implementing security policies which are aligned to industry standards.
However, as modern work practices are blending into both personal time (does anyone actually work 9 to 5, Monday to Friday anymore?) and personal devices (accessing corporate email on a personal mobile device), it is incredibly important for the modern employee to adopt a mature personal IT security posture to minimise risk both to their personal accounts, devices and details but also indirectly to their employers systems.
