New BSI facility in Warsaw

PRESS RELEASE

June 14, 1999

Companies in Poland gained a major boost on June 10, 1999, with the official opening of a new facility in Warsaw for management system registration by the UK-based global quality assurance leader BSI.

Offering local companies independent accreditation of their management systems, BSI's Warsaw office can help them prove that they are top-class companies with high-quality management systems in place to help them succeed.

In addition to ISO 9000, the international management system standard, BSI's Warsaw office also provides local access to accredited registration for QS-9000, and ISO 14001, the internationally recognised standard for environmental management systems.

Dr Krystyna Stephens, manager of BSI's Warsaw office, said: "This new facility will be a major asset for our clients, who include leading companies in Poland like ABB ZUC, Thomson Polkolor, ICL, Lucent Technologies, Polish Oil and Gas company, Ford, and Henkel Bautechnik Polska. We are already working with more than 200 clients throughout the region."

Krystyna Stephens continued: "In today's international marketplace, we recognise how important it is to provide organisations with a 'one-stop service' locally. We give Poland's companies local access to accredited BSI registration services, and co-ordinate the delivery of BSI services throughout Central Europe."

The opening of the new office was a prestigious event, attended by many of BSI's clients, local business organisations, the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation, and representatives from BSI's headquarters in London.
