DFS becomes first and only UK retailer to be certified to the BSI Kitemark™ for upholstered furniture

DFS has become the first and only UK furniture retailer to be certified to the BSI Kitemark™ for upholstered furniture.  The BSI Kitemark is one of the most established and  recognized symbols of quality and safety throughout the world, giving consumers the confidence that a product or service goes above and beyond standard levels of quality, and can be trusted to meet the highest levels of safety and reliability.

To achieve the new Kitemark certification for upholstered furniture, all DFS’ own factories and suppliers have undergone rigorous assessment from BSI, focusing on the product frames, mechanisms and fabrics, as well as factory production control. To guarantee customers the highest standards, each DFS sofa range was put through its paces; undergoing up to 23 separate tests withstanding loads of up to 100kg to measure its strength and durability. All DFS’ own factories and suppliers will now continue to be independently audited by BSI on an annual basis, to ensure production is consistent and that quality standards continue to be met.
