The world first standard on Supplier Risk Prequalification PAS 7000 published by BSI Group has been piloted in several countries ever since its launch earlier this year. The PAS 7000 standard is based on 15 modules consisting of Core & Additional modules and helps establish for buyers clear answer to the following three key questions in an organization’s supply chain
- Who are they? (Suppliers)
- Where are they? (Real factories, real manufacturing facilities)
- Can they be trusted
The standard further provides Trust & confidence of the organization’s supply chain. Profile validation is done to gather information on Business Governance, Financial Strength, Business capabilities and the physical existence.
Kings International Ltd., is the first company globally to be certified to the PAS 7000 standard. The company opted for a complete validation (CAT 7) for all modules comprising the Core and Additional requirements.
Kings International manufactures Saddlery and other leather products such as, Handbags/Travel bags, Belts, Pets Accessories and Hunting Accessories. The unit exports 100% of its output to markets that include France, Germany, USA, UK, Denmark, Australia, Spain, Sweden & Singapore.
Venkataram Arabolu, Managing Director speaking on the occasion of the handing over of the first ever certificate to PAS 7000 standard said, “it is a significant achievement for Kings International to the first ever to achieve this distinction that not only demonstrates their commitment but also speaks of their leadership, and for India’s drive for becoming a export manufacturing hub”. The use of the PAS 7000 standard clearly demonstrates high standards of responsible manufacturing and will help Indian suppliers to build confidence in their buyers about the resilience of their supply chain.
