Derek is a Tutor for BSI’s UK Training Department, specializing in Information Security, Business Continuity, Quality Management Systems and Energy Management. Formerly a school Physics and Chemistry Teacher, Derek also has experience in the design and delivery of IT, Cryptography and Influence training across the Ministry of Defence
Derek came to the BSI Training Department from the education sector, where he was a Secondary Science Teacher specializing in Physics and Chemistry. This was following on from a 25-year career in the Royal Air Force, much of which was spent in the delivery of training. With his diverse background, Derek has built up in-depth knowledge and experience of communications infrastructure, radio and RADAR systems, satellite communications and IT.
Derek has an extensive working knowledge of various ISO management system standards and guidelines, including ISO 27001, ISO 22301, ISO 50001 and ISO 9001.
