Dave is a Tutor for BSI’s UK Training Department, specialising in Information Security, Business Continuity, Service Management and Quality Management Systems. He has wide experience of designing, delivering and evaluating Information Security training across Ministry of Defence, as well as developing awareness programmes and delivering short courses covering Risk Management, Physical Security, Personnel Security, Asset Management & Protection and Business Continuity planning.
Dave joined the BSI Training Department following a brief time with Royal Mail Group as a Cyber Security Consultant, advising technology project teams on Cyber / Information Security standards and accepted practices, whilst identifying and managing potential risks accordingly.
Before that Dave spent 22 years serving in the Royal Air Force, mostly within the Information Security specialisation. He also has in-depth knowledge and experience of Protective Security, Aviation Security and compliance auditing against the HMG Security Policy Framework criteria, in addition to International Standards (including challenging operational locations with limited resources and little margin for error).
Dave has extensive working knowledge of various ISO management system standards and guidelines, including ISO 2000-1, ISO 27001, ISO 22301 and ISO 9001.

- Awarded an AOC 2Gp Commendation for modernising standard practice by developing a secure cloud-based system, providing information security assurance to the RAF Police trade’s SIO
- Security Advisor for all RAF Police personnel within East Midlands area
- Protective Security specialist advisor, acting as a Subject Matter Expert for RAF Police trade senior executives at multiple MoD sites
- Provided support and mentorship to all RAF Police Protective Security personnel within East Midlands area
