Jennifer is BSI’s Product Specialist for devices utilising animal tissue and has been designated by the MHRA to act as a technical expert and in house reviewer for Medical Devices utilising animal tissues or derivatives, including those for which a TSE risk is suspected and wound care devices.
Prior to joining BSI, Jennifer spent 10 years within the pharmaceutical and medical device industries and has extensive experience in research and development of a range of biological products utilising animal tissues and derivatives, manufacture of cGMP-compliant cell banks, scale up of cell banking and ATMP manufacturing processes, collagen manufacture, viral elimination / inactivation studies, viral safety / biosafety testing of cell banks, the design, manufacture, validation, risk management activities for ATMPs and Class III devices utilising animal tissues/derivatives, regulatory affairs and quality assurance for advanced therapy medicinal products and Class III devices, and global regulatory approvals for Class III devices utilising animal tissues/derivatives.
She has a PhD in Cell Engineering Studies on Human Skin Cells; Implications for Dermal Wound Repair and an undergraduate – BSc (Hons) Biomedical Sciences.
