In an interview with Martin Townsend, we look at social value, what it means and how it is evolving, as companies look at a more rounded view of sustainability and the role that they play in society.

There is an important change happening in business, which it would be very easy to miss among all the other change we are seeing in the business environment at the moment, that of social value, which is driving business to move away from just considering the environmental issues and embracing the wider social imperatives. Defining social value as how companies now need to see both the financial and non-financial impacts of what they do, through their services, programmes and actions, including the wellbeing of individuals and communities, social capital and the environment. Here, in the seventh episode of our series, Martin Townsend, considers how organizations can embrace the concept of social value.
