The second annual BSI Standards Awards, for outstanding contributions to standards-making, were presented on 27 November 2015 at the BSI Standards Forum held at the Millenium Gloucester Hotel, London. Ten awards were presented in total, with a further eight Special Commendations still to be presented to nominees who were not selected for an award. The awards were presented by Dr Scott Steedman CBE, Director of Standards, BSI and Carol Sergeant, Chairman, Standards Policy and Strategy Committee, BSI
The BSI Standards Awards are the most prestigious awards BSI gives to committee members and were created to recognize outstanding contributions by emerging standards-makers, international standards-makers and committee chairmen. In addition, with the special Wolfe Barry Medal, BSI recognizes exceptional commitment and contribution to standards-making by an individual. Through their services to standards-making, all of the award winners are helping their sectors to develop and grow, and helping to safeguard consumers.
The 2015 IEC 1906 Awards were also presented during the BSI awards ceremony; results will be added here very soon. These awards were presented by Geoff Young, President of the BEC.
