BSI announces appointment of new CSIR Managing Director

February 1, 2021

BSI, the business improvement company, today announces the appointment of Mark Brown as Managing Director of its Cybersecurity and Information Resilience (CSIR) business effective immediately.

Mark succeeds Mike Bailey, who has successfully led the setup and continued growth of the CSIR business for the last five years, including expansions in the US, UK and Ireland. Mike will be moving to the position of Consulting Services Managing Director of EMEA as of March 1.

Mark joins BSI with more than 20 years of expertise in cybersecurity, data privacy, and business resilience consultancy. He has previously held roles at Wipro Ltd. and Ernst & Young (EY), among others. He brings a wealth of knowledge, including extensive proficiency on the Internet of Things (IoT) and the expanding cybersecurity marketplace. In his new role, Mark will be focused on expanding the CSIR business globally through current services and bringing a new global focus on emerging technologies and risks such as IoT and Operational Technology (OT), increased cloud adoption, RPA Security, 5G security, and the CISO desire to achieve central management over the new converged digital arena.

Mike Bailey, Managing Director, Consulting Services EMEA at BSI said: “Leading the CSIR business to date has been a great honor for me and I know that Mark will continue to do great things in this next chapter for the business. Information resilience is an essential part of our lives and core to our commitment and service.”

Mark Brown, Managing Director, CSIR at BSI said: “I am excited to be joining BSI at this crucial time, allowing me to work with a highly experienced team of cybersecurity, cyber risk, and advisory professionals. I have great regard for BSI as an organization that is built on inspiring trust. I look forward to providing an expanding range of clients with information resilience and data governance support. And as we grow globally in the coming years, increasing their awareness of BSI’s portfolio of cybersecurity and information resilience advisory services.”

In all sectors, across all industry verticals, BSI’s expertise and experience, alongside its innovative ways of doing business will ensure that our clients are compliant, safe, secure and resilient in their management of information risk. If 2020 and COVID-19 has taught us anything, no company is safe and as digitization and connectivity is rife across the globe, so too are cyber threats and malicious actors. We will therefore further expand our range of services and expertise into new and emerging technologies risk arenas to adapt to changing business needs and further assist our clients."
