BSI obtains global accreditation for Information Security Management Systems standard ISO 27001:2013

BSI, the business standards company, has received official accreditation status from the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB) for the new Information Security Management Systems Standard, ISO 27001:2013.

To gain accredited status, BSI's transition process and auditor training to the new standard have been independently assessed to ensure it operates at the highest level of quality and service. This provides assurance to clients that the certificates issued to them are both credible and impartial.

ISO/IEC 27001:2013 represents the latest best-practice thinking in information security and has been written using the new high level structure, which is common to all new management systems standards. This will allow easy integration when implementing more than one management system .

John Lee, Global Assurance and Accreditation Manager at BSI said "We have been extremely proactive in managing our transition processes and auditor training for the new version of ISO 27001. This will ensure that our clients can achieve certification to the new standard quickly, thereby embedding the latest best practice into their organizations."
