Meet our keynote speakers
Chair of the ISO Committee developing ISO 45001 Standard
David Smith has many years’ experience developing, writing and implementing management systems and in particular, assessing HSE systems. He chairs a variety of BSI Committees including the committees responsible for management systems. Additionally, he represents the UK on ISO and CEN international committees on HSE managementsystems standards.
He is Chair of ISO PC 283 (ISO 45001 committee on OHS). He has experience of risk, quality, OHS and environmental management in practice in large corporate organizations, government agencies as well as SME’s. He undertakes consultancy, training and assessment work all over the world. David possesses a Bachelor of Science, London University, London, Master of Science, London University, London, Approved Lead Audit Trainer for IMS, OHS. Author of 15 books including the subjects of Environmental, OHS and Risk Management.

General Manager for Compliance and Risk- BSI MEA
Colin joined BSI Middle East and Africa in February 2017, taking on the role of General Manager Compliance and Risk. After 26 years with BSI UK, Colin brings a wealth of experience on both the operational and compliance sides of the System Certification business.
Over the years, hehas delivered many 9001 assessments to the oil and gas industry withinthe UK, Middle East and the Far East and recently 14001 assessments. He has and continues to deliver many ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 Assessment Audits. Colin has worked in the past at South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) & Fisons Fertilizers.
Colin will be addressing some of the key points involved in transferring to ISO 45001, including the IAF mandatory requirements, the time frame for transfer and the options available for transfer.
