Be prepared and protect your business
- In the UK one fire breaks out every minute.
- Every day there are over 47 fire related injuries.
- Over 11 people die every week from fire related causes.
New legislation (the Fire Safety Order - FSO) will replace the provisions of the Fire
Precautions Act in England and Wales. The Fire Authority will no longer issue fire
certificates for premises; instead the responsibility for fire protection will lie with
the responsible person (e.g. owner) of the premises. The owner will be responsible
for carrying out a risk assessment and to then make the changes identified.
BSI’s standards and publications in this area are essential reference for specifiers, designers and installers, including architects, building professionals, building surveyors, consulting engineers, electrical contractors, fire brigades, local authorities, housing associations.
