Aids for disabled or handicapped people

If you design, develop, produce, install or service any medical device you need to comply with the requirements set out in the relevant European Directives:

The standards offered in the field of aids for the disabled covers mobility aids, environmental controls, communication and hearing aids, posture management, pressure management, moving and handling systems and aids for daily living. Children who are born with disabilities, people who acquire disabilities in later life and the elderly want and need to maintain their independence in their own homes wherever possible and standards help to enable such independence. Increased use of Assistive Technology and the development of new concepts, designs and products and standards to support such innovation will play a major part in meeting this challenge.
