The aim of this project was to increase exportability and competitiveness of Bulgarian industry. It was administered through a project implementation unit (PIU) comprising seven staff. The PIU provides expertise for:
- elaboration of strategic plan for the provision of efficient information services for distributing (eg. print-on-demand principle), promoting and providing customers (including BDS staff and stakeholders involved in the national standardization activity) with adequate access to standards and related information (eg. on-line bibliographical access, multi-access full texts database of Bulgarian standards) with defined access rights
- preparation and delivery of training courses/workshops to the BDS staff in providing state-of-the-art customer service as well as maintaining databases and IT systems
- preparation and delivery of training courses/workshops to the standardization staff in the promotion of standardization towards industry users
- presentation and profound acquaintance with the European standardization bodies' experience and practices in promotion of standardization activities as regards industry market and society needs
- development of complete procedure manual structure and guidelines on how to deal with clients, as well as procedure manual for operation of the information system of the national standardization body
- assistance in the preparation of fulfillment of CEN/CENELEC requirements for obtaining full membership including review, revision and preparation of essential documents, and audit support.
