PAS 89 Enterprise Content Management − Code of practice
Background
PAS 89 is sponsored by The Content Group and aims to detail best practice for integrated Enterprise Content Management (ECM) solutions that enable organisations to significantly improve operational efficiency, gain competitive advantage and meet today's compliance challenges.
Scope
This Publicly Available Specification (PAS) details best practice for Enterprise Content Management (ECM). It defines what ECM is and how to leverage maximum value from it. It provides best practice for the development of an ECM strategy, the successful implementation of such a strategy and challenges that may be encountered during its evolution. It can be used to further an existing strategy or develop a new strategy. It also provides a reference framework for continuous measurement and improvement, thus increasing the quality of ECM.
It is applicable to all those involved in ECM including end users, technology providers, system integrators, analysts, industry associations and experts. It is of particular value for those end user organizations working to establish effective use of content across the enterprise, touching on each corner of the organization.
It is not intended to be a business case for ECM, project management methodology or service delivery model.
