The dgmAffiliates website can be located at www.dgm-uk.com. This tells you everything you need to know about dgmAffiliates, their product offerings and to sign up as an affiliate of BSI British Standards.
Sign Up Page
Sign up to the BSI British Standards Affiliate Scheme. Making money from your site could not be easier. Simply go to www.dgm-uk.com, roll over the affiliate marketing tab and click on the “become an affiliate” link, you will then be presented with an online form. Fill in all details accurately so that your application can be reviewed and approved quickly. Please ensure you make a note of your login and password as you will require these again when you login into dgmPro.
NOTE: You can change your password at anytime once you are logged into the system.
Categories
You will then need to select the categories relevant to your site from the list. Pressing “add” will select the chosen category and move it to the right hand box.
URLs
The URL field asks you to add the URL(s)/Websites which you will be using to publish your BSI British Standards content. You can add an unlimited number of sites. To add them, click “add” If you want to remove, edit or delete any URLs, click on the “delete” button.
Notifications
The bottom of the page allows you to choose which, if any, email types you wish to receive from dgmAffiliates. You can select from Newsletter Updates – Information on the latest programs, network and industry news.
Campaign Information – Information regarding specific programs that you have signed up to.
Category Specific News – Communication regarding specific advertising categories e.g. Health and beauty and /Travel. These relate to the categories that you chose earlier.
NOTE: In accordance with our Affiliate terms and conditions, you will automatically be sent suspension and bespoke advertiser information as and when necessary.
Format – This gives you the option to receive your communication in plain text or HTML.
Terms and Conditions
Read the Affiliate terms and conditions and when you are happy tick the box. When you are ready to send us your application, click . “submit”
Application-thank you
Once you have submitted your application, you will go to a summary page. This acknowledgement page contains your contact details, selected categories and selected URLs for publishing BSI British Standards content.
NOTE: You should print this page and keep it in your records.
Email validation
An email will be sent to your chosen email contact. You will be asked to validate your email address by clicking on the link contained in the text. Acceptance notification
Providing that your application meets dgmAffiliates stringent approval process, you will receive an email directing you to log on. This email also confirms your user name and details relating to your password. The content within the email covers basic starter instructions on joining programs, creative links, checking stats and bank details.
dgmPro
Once you have been accepted as an affiliate you can then log on to dgmPro, the interface used by affiliates to access creative, links, information links and reports.
Initially it will be very important for you to use dgmPro to access BSI scheme specific creative and text links. If you do not use these to link through to BSI then dgmAffiliates will be unable to track this traffic and you will not receive your commission for sales you generate.
Once logged into dgmPro click on the “campaigns” tab: Once in “campaigns” enter the program you are looking for in the search field on the top left hand side of the screen. Whilst initially you will be looking for BSI British Standards scheme information you will be free to promote any of the other companies on dgmAffiliates network.
Applying for the BSI Affiliate Program
To join the BSI British Standards affiliate scheme click on the “Join Campaign” button in the summary section of the campaign information screen. From here you need to click on the link to the terms and conditions for the scheme. Tick the “I Agree” box and click on the “Join campaigns” tab and you will see a screen confirming that your status on the scheme is pending. You will be accepted onto the scheme once BSI British Standards has approved your site. BSI British Standards aims to do this as quickly as possible. Once you have been accepted onto the scheme you will see your status as “Approved” the next time you log into the BSI British Standards scheme information page.
Banners
You can view the banners screen by clicking on the “b” icon from the campaign screen. This screen shows you all the different banners that have been provided for any given scheme, any of which can be placed on your website. Use the ‘Filter Banners’ panel to select specific banners that you require for your site. Once you have selected the banner that you want to place on your site, click the “Click here to view creative codes”, to get the information necessary to place that banner on your site. You will be guided through the process via the ‘pop up’ window or you can read the ‘Placing code on your site’ section below.
NOTE: Your browser might block ‘pop up’ windows, a grey bar should appear if this is the case just below the address bar, by right-clicking you can ‘allow pop-ups for this site’, which will resolve the problem.
Text Links
You can select text links by clicking on the icon from the campaign screen and either exporting the CSV (Comma Separated Variable) file or selecting “Click here to rename your Text Link”.
Placing code on your site
In order to ensure that your sales are tracked correctly, the code that dgmPro provides you when placing banners; text links or feeds needs to be placed on your site correctly.
NOTE: It is extremely important that you are careful when editing the code manually. The code contains information which is unique to your account and ensures that information regarding sales is recorded.
You can select several different types of tag for banners from a drop down menu once you have clicked ‘Click here to view Banner Codes’
Basic A Basic tag can only display images supported by a browser, e.g. gif, jpg, bmp.
JavaScript/ IFrame A Javascript or Iframe tag can display any type of banner, including flash.
Banner code variables
