About the pilot scheme
The objective of the pilot scheme was to trial the usability of BS EN 16001 and provide feedback to help support the development of the standard and any future editions.
The key responsibility of the trial organizations was to implement an energy management system in accordance with the requirements of the draft BS EN 16001 and to demonstrate commitment to the systematic management of energy.
