Course outline:
This one-day, interactive workshop explores the growing need to address environmental considerations during the development or revision of standards.
The session has been specifically tailored to help standards writers:-
- To identify why it is both necessary and desirable to address the environmental aspects of products or services in standardization
- To consider how this can be achieved by:-
- outlining basic tools which can help
- identifying sources of information and support
The programme is split into three sections which cover:-
- Environmental Thinking
- Identifying how human activities can interact with our environment
- Exploring the value of addressing environmental aspects through standardisation
- How this can improve economic performance, commercial advantage and the relevance and influence of standards in a changing world
- Looking at and applying tools and sources information, help and support for addressing environmental aspects in standards making activities, including:
- case studies and examples of best practice
- online tools and templates
- the opportunity to secure individual support for your specific committee
This revised course will also include updates on the mandatory inclusion by CEN of environmental requirements into the development and revision of all standards.
