CEN Supporting Material and Reference Documents
There are many useful documents on the CEN website, which will help you through the drafting process and the rules within which you have to work. The overarching link is:
http://www.cen.eu/boss/supporting/supporting.asp
By following the link you can access the various types of assistance provided.
You can see there are a diversity of documents, in many formats, which should be helpful - including templates for use when drafting, the Internal Regulations which govern the standards development procedures, guidance documents for specific situations and forms for use within committees.
From 2009, the CEN/CENELEC Internal Regulations will be updated electronically, hence the version available via the link below will contain the most up-to-date regulations. This brings the Internal Regulations in line with IEC and ISO, who have been issuing electronic updates for some time.

CEN StandarDays
In October 2006, CEN initiated CEN StandarDays, a two day training session aimed at newcomers to European standardization, as well as those who would like to understand the CEN system better. They give a clear and structured overview of the European Standardization System, of the CEN products and processes, as well as the benefits of involvement to potential stakeholders. The two day session is broken down as follows : an introductory plenary meeting, which explains the different aspects and tasks of CEN (day 1) and interactive, in-depth workshops (day 2). This structure gives participants the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the overall European Standardization System (day 1) and then take advantage of the CEN expertise to obtain further clarification and explanations (day 2).
CEN StandarDays are organized twice a year. The next set of CEN StandarDays will take place in April 2009. CEN StandarDays are aimed at all actors interested in the European standardization system: industry, consumers, administrations and government, European institutions, research centres, national standards institutes, etc. Participation is free. Since there a limited number of places, registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis and will close when the maximum number is reached.
To participate in the next CEN StandarDay please check the website regularly:
