We are pleased to announce that we will shortly be offering the opportunity to claim a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certificate for participation in committee work during 2008. Early in 2009 an online application facility will open, where committee members can enter the details of the committee(s) for which they wish to claim certification. This application will be verified by BSI staff and a CPD certificate issued in due course. The certificate will contain a self-evaluation area where committee members can assess how participation in committee activities has contributed to their CPD in line with individual professional institutions’ particular requirements. This avoids the need to issue CPD ‘points’ or ‘hours’ and enables a tailored approach to Continuing Professional Development certification, in line with current best practice.
