As part of our ongoing commitment to keep you informed of progress on the eCommittees upgrade, we are pleased to announce that the design of the new system has been completed. The test system has been developed and initial testing by the Project Team and External Representatives commenced at the end of October 2006. On completion of the initial test phase during November; the four pilot groups will commence the second test phase of testing. This is scheduled to run from November through to the end of January/early February 2007.
The new system is more user friendly, and improvements are being included on the basis of end user feedback and to ensure that our document management system keeps abreast of new systems development.
The principal areas included in the upgrade are:
- the width of the screens, leading to the need to scroll across the screen
- the layout and content of the Committee Homepage
- additional links in the Navigation Console to assist Members to access and locate important information on the system
- the way in which document downloads work for a diverse collection of documents
- the circulation of voting documents, using a new feature called the voting booth.
An e-learning training programme for the new eCommittees system is being prepared and will be rolled out to you in the New Year.
