The BEC AGM sees the appointment of a new President
The British Electrotechnical Committee (BEC) Annual General Meeting took place at Savoy Place on 22 November 2006 and a new President, Geoff Young, was appointed. He kicked off his presidency by challenging the membership with a draft strategic plan for the BEC. Over 300 stakeholders have an active interest, through committee participation, in Electrotechnical Standardisation and there was discussion around how best to communicate and promote the activities and value of the BEC to these parties - watch this space!
BEC and BSI interface - Did you know?
- The British Electrotechnical Committee (BEC) is the UK member body of IEC and its president is the UK member of CENELEC.
- BEC is the parent body of those technical committees/sub-committees that mirror IEC and CENELEC committees.
- The Chairman of BEC sits on the BSI Strategic Policy and Strategy Committee (SPSC).
- BSI provides the secretariat resource for BEC and its technical/sub-committees as well as resource for some international secretariats in IEC and CENELEC.
