World-class conference centre opens at Chiswick

Conference centreVisitors attending meetings at BSI now have 'state of the art' facilities in the brand new conference centre at the Chiswick headquarters.

The 'visitor experience' project covered the complete refurbishment of 14 committee meeting rooms on the fifth floor, refurbishment of the large meeting room on the ground floor (G1) and the addition of plasma screens and branding in reception. The new screens display welcome messages, committee meeting bookings, information about products and services, and will soon have a live television news feed. There are also data display units in reception and in the lobby of the fifth floor which will provide additional committee meeting information.

The conference centre now offers state-of-the-art electronic working facilities including a wireless network, fixed multimedia projectors, teleconferencing capability, interactive whiteboard and a security card swipe system.

In addition, an internet café on the ground floor has been designed for committee members and other visitors to the building to download emails, hold informal meetings, relax or catch up on any outstanding work. The area is fully equipped with three PCs, wireless access and a printer.
