In response to feedback from committee chairmen and as part of a wider initiative to enhance committee and stakeholder engagement in support of the NSSF, British Standards organized a series of sector-based forums in 2005.
- January - the Construction Standards Forum.
- May - the Environment and Sustainability Standards Forum.
- November - a Nanotechnology Standards Forum, in partnership with DTI, NPL and MNT Network.
Each sector standards forum brought together British Standards staff and existing partners, both committee chairmen and stakeholders, and other bodies relevant to the issues under discussion with whom British Standards should or would like to be working. They were also interactive, with most of the event designed around delegate participation.
These events provided a unique opportunity for all BSI's stakeholders and chairmen in the sector to come together for discussions with the NSB on a range of standardization issues.
