As well as the carrying out functional improvements to the eCommittees platform, our focus is on consolidating use of the eCommittees platform and rolling out virtual meetings to interested committees and drafting groups. The platform provides a lot of functionality and capability to support improved forms of electronic working and we hope that as confidence in the platform grows these opportunities will be fully realised.

Improvements Project
During 2005 we improved the functionality of the eCommittees platform. The principal areas of improvement have been:
- screen layout
- notification emails
- multiple downloads
- filenames
- liaison documents.
Details of these improvements are available on the eCommittees platform in the Useful Document folder under 'eCommittees Systems News'.
The eCommittees call logging system has been automated and a direct telephone helpline to support you on any technical queries has been introduced.
Virtual Meetings
We are commencing training on virtual meetings (Meeting Zone), on a limited basis, to interested committees and drafting groups from Quarter 4 of 2005. If you are interested in being considered, please contact Standards.Training@bsi-global.com.
Complimentary Standards Online
At the request of members, complimentary hardcopy standards have been replaced by electronic delivery of free standards. Complimentary Standards Online became active during Q4 of 2005. Standards are available for download on the relevant committee site for two months after release.
Construction Meeting Place
