For the past few years, BSI has held a Standards Makers Forum for Committee Chairmen in central London. Earlier this year a review was started to assess the future of this event. A survey was sent to all Chairmen for their input and the results showed that some changes are needed. Unfortunately, we are too late to incorporate the changes this year and so it is likely to be held in central London in November – date and venue to be issued in due course. However, for 2011 we will be looking at implementing the feedback we received that is given below.
What the results said:
- Only 38% of those responding had ever attended one of the events
- 58% of those responding would prefer the event not to be held in the Autumn, with May proving the most popular choice of an alternative time, closely followed by March, April and June.
- 44% of those responding would prefer the event to be held outside of London, with Birmingham and Manchester scoring highest as alternative locations
- 66% of those responding would prefer the event to be a different format, with 51% preferring a half day event and giving us some good feedback on what you’d like and not like to be included.
