DIUS funding of standards development at BSI to date has included a separate CDS scheme as an option to fast-track standards.
Following a review with DIUS of funding for 2008/9 and our standards work in development, we are advising you that funding applications in the 2008/09 financial year ending 31 March 2009 and in future for projects to prepare the first draft of a standard will not be considered under a separate CDS scheme, but instead be judged as part of the overall standards development programme, on a case-by-case basis.
Please note: This notice does not apply to all existing approved and contracted CDS-funded projects. This work will continue to be progressed.
Please liaise with your BSI committee Programme Manager to consider all options available for projects put forward for funding in 2008/09.
Requests for new British Standards work will continue unaffected, subject to a business case (Acceptance process) and approval and we will, as usual, help you in their preparation.
