Welcome to the second edition of our e-newsletter for committee members.
In this edition we update you on the new Market Sector Focus in operations and provide you with feedback from the online committee members' survey. There are some updates on what is happening in the international standards arena and details of the policy on dealing with media enquiries.

Following on from the Committee Operating Plans, produced towards the end of 2005, it became clear that the standards development programme naturally segmented into six primary market groupings. As a result, we have refined the BS Operations structure and recently implemented organisational changes within British Standards' (BS) core Operations team.

Ensuring Committee Members are trained is a key responsibility for BSI as the National Standards Body. Traditionally, British Standards Committee Member Training has run classroom based training to provide committee members with the knowledge and tools necessary to support and enhance their activities in standardization work.
