  • BS EN 54 Part 2 – Fire alarm control panels

    Specifies the functionality, Performance, Environmental and EMC requirements for Fire Alarm Control Panels for both mandatory and optional functions. 
  • BS EN 54 Part 3 - fire alarm devices - sounders
  • BS EN 54 Part 4 – Power supply equipment

    Specifies the Performance, Environmental, Electrical Safety and EMC requirements for Power Supply Units, which are either stand alone for connection to any compatible fire alarm control panel or integral to the fire alarm control panel (i.e. contained within the same enclosure as the fire alarm control panel). 
  • BS EN 54 Part 5 – Heat detectors

    Components of automatic fire detection systems. Heat sensitive detectors – point detectors containing a static element. 
  • BS EN 54 Part 7 - Smoke detectors

    Smoke detectors – point detectors using scattered light, transmitted light or ionisation. 
  • BS EN 54 Part 11 - Manual call points

    Replaces BS 5839-2: 1983 which remains current. 
  • BS 5446 Part 1:2000

    Fire detection and fire alarm devices for dwellings. Specification for smoke alarms. 
  • BS 5446 Part 2: 2003 is the new standard for domestic heat alarms and specifies the performance, environmental, electrical safety and constructional requirements for heat detectors for use in domestic premises.
  • BS 7860 - Carbon monoxide detectors (electrical) for domestic use

    Replaced by BS EN 50291: 2001 but remains current. 
  • EN 50291 - Electrical apparatus for the detection of carbon monoxide in domestic premises.

    Replaces BS 7860: 1996 which remains current. 
  • EN 50194 - Electrical apparatus for the detection of combustible gases in domestic premises.

    Replaces BS 7348: 1990 which remains current. 
  • EN 12094-1 - Components for gas extinguishing systems
