The Kitemark for Vehicle Damage Repair is your opportunity to show how serious you are about getting critical vehicle damage repair safety processes right. Based on the technical specification – PAS 125.
This Kitemark scheme was developed by BSI and Thatcham and is a UKAS-accredited PAS 125. Run by BSI, the Kitemark scheme is completely independent and impartial. Any vehicle body repair business – large or small, independent or franchise – operating from fixed premises or mobile facilities can apply for a Kitemark licence.

Achieving the Kitemark for PAS 125
Based on the technical specification – PAS 125 – the Kitemark scheme focuses on 5 key elements of the repair process.

To achieve the Kitemark a repairer has first to demonstrate conformity with the requirements of the Kitemark scheme protocol and PAS 125 through an initial audit arranged by BSI. This visit includes an audit of the vehicle repair process and related activities.
What the scheme includes
A Kitemark License for vehicle body repair can be awarded in any of the three repair types:
- Cosmetic - The repair type covers basic damage such as dents, bumper, scuffs, minor paint or panel damage.
- Structural - Steel - Repair of this type involves replacement and repair of quarter, rear or sill panel(s), welded and bonded parts and severe damage repair.
- Structural - Specialist - This covers repairs to vehicles with a specialist structure, which will require using specific methods in composite construction techniques when handling aluminium, carbon fibre and plastics.
