Jacs van Rooy

Jacs joined the BSI team in February 2016 and is responsible for the training business in South Africa by implementing good practise and driving synergies across the Training and Professional Services. Jacs has over 22 years’ experience in the implementation, training and assessment of health, safety, environmental, food hygiene, quality and more recently energy management systems. Jacs worked for 10 years with The South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) as a Quality, Food Safety, Laboratory Accreditation, Environmental and Health & Safety Management System Auditor in sectors like food, chemical, agricultural forestry, pharmaceutical and metallurgical. 



Adriana Du Plessis

Adriana Du Plessis

Adriana joined BSI in February 2015 as a result of the acquisition of PricewaterhouseCoopers Certification (Pty) Ltd (A division of Sustainability & Intergrated Reporting at PwC). Adri is responsible for the day-to-day functioning and growth of the South African operations including ensure compliance to the accreditation requirements. She is an ISO 9001 lead auditor with more than twenty years’ experience in accredited certification. Prior to joining PwC Certification, Adriana was the Operational Manager at the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) Certification, specialising in the services sector, auditing of ISO 9001 principles, tools and techniques across many areas covering customer services, operations management, supply chain and manufacturing.

Gizella Ward

Gizella Ward

Gizella Ward has an array of experience in brand management, marketing strategy development, business development, training coordination, client liaison and website design. She has worked in the certification industry for the past  6 years as the Administrative Controller for the Fleet Management Section and as Junior Project Manager for TUV Rheinland - Business Stream Mobility. Her key roles in the Business Development and Implementation Team was being responsible for product consulting with business partners and third party clients as well as to build, maintain and strengthen relationships with clients, business partners and third party clients by delivering excellent client service to all stakeholders.

Steven Lashmar

Business Development Executive, Training, Certification and Professional Services

Steven Lashmar

Steven Lashmar joined the BSI Group South Africa in June 2016. He has 30 years experience in the accredited management system, product and regulatory certification and laboratory accreditation industry sectors. He has held regional and executive management positions at the South African Bureau of Standards, SGS and TUV Rheinland and has been involved mostly in business development and marketing. He has an Electrical Engineering HNDT (light current) and is also an ISO 9001 auditor and a TAPA Facility and Transportation security auditor. He is passionate about assisting organisations from smallholder farmers and SME suppliers to large corporates, to maximize their potential via auditing, inspection, testing and certification solutions.

Lorenda van Heerden

Lorenda joined BSI in February 2015 as a result of the acquisition of PricewaterhouseCoopers Certification (Pty) Ltd (A division of Sustainability & Integrated Reporting at PwC).  Lorenda is an Operations Planner, responsible for the planning and administration of external resources and clients. Prior to PWC, Lorenda was in the employment of National Occupational Safety Association for 23 years of which was responsible for NQA certification planning and administration for 12 years.
