Technical update: The Pressure Equipment Directive PED 2014/68/EU – it’s nearing the starter’s gun

PED 2014/68/EU will become effective from 19 July 2016 and if you haven’t started preparation then now is the time to get busy.

Article 13 of 2014/68/EU relating to fluid classification was enacted into law via Statutory Instrument (SI) 2015 No. 399 on 01 June 2015 and it’s requirements are enforceable.

BSI’s Whitepaper clearly describes the changes to the PED and provides a timeline for their implementation.

From 1 July 2016 BSI will be offering PED training/awareness sessions in a modularised format. If you need training or awareness of specific PED issues, e.g. material certification or PMA’s or permanent joining or changes imposed by 2014/68/EU or two or more specifics we can provide it. Watch this space for more information.
