PAS 125: the move to a British standard. Your update.

Since our last newsletter, further steps have been taken by the separate standards arm of BSI to start the process of developing the new British standard  for Vehicle Damage Repair.

A technical committee has been established comprising key industry stakeholders, including consumer groups, body shops and insurers, to start the drafting process and to ensure the standard reflects changes in the market. As part of this, a draft for public comment will be made available in the new year for wider comment.

Please look out for further updates in the new year.

Client survey results

With an excellent 29% response rate, we’ve gained real insight from those who took part in our client survey on the support we have offered clients in the past year which will help us shape plans into 2014.  Thank you to all who took part. Our prize winner for the two Silverstone driving experience tickets was Mr Brian Hudson of Clark and Partners, Sheffield.

Audit reward programme update

Our plans have been progressing regarding the audit reward programme which will recognize vehicle repairers who consistently achieve clear audits.  We intend to share how this programme will work in a separate communication in the New Year. For those who are not aware of this revised approach or are new to the scheme, the reward audit programme will reward those who have three consecutive clear audits, by then extending the audit period and also introducing desk top audits.  Its deigned to reward those vehicle repairers who consistently deliver best practice, and also to drive down costs.  Look out for further updates.

Fix Auto Peterborough presented new licence after move to larger premises

Phil Whitaker (Managing Director) and Roger Goodliff (HR & Training Consultant) from Fix Auto Peterborough received their new certificate from BSI’s Global Marketing Director, Maureen Sumner Smith and Richard Meadowcroft, Product Technical Manager, Compliance and Risk

A move to larger premises brought Fix Auto Peterborough to our Milton Keynes offices to receive their new presentation certificate this month.

In order to meet increased capacity Fix Auto Peterborough identified their need to expand into new premises with a square footage of  16,000 sq ft.

The £200,000 investment effectively doubles the weekly repair capacity to 65 vehicles, creating new jobs in the process. This is in addition to Phil Whitaker’s other two sites at Huntingdon & Spalding, which allows the group to annually repair more than 11,000 vehicles.

Mr Whitaker, said: “Completing our move to bigger and more efficient premises whilst still keeping the business running was no easy task. All our sites have BSI Kitemark PAS125 certification, and there is no doubt that having the systems in place, made the transition a little bit easier”.

ABP Night of Knights Awards 2013

BSI Kitemark approved repairers were once again amongst the award winners at the recent ABP conference and Night of Knight awards.  Our warm congratulations to these vehicle repairers for a great achievement.
