Raising standards in facilities management conference

Free event

Date: Tuesday 15 October 2013

Location: Bishopsgate Court, London, E1 6DQ

Facilities management is one of the fastest growing professions in the UK and as a sector is worth between £40-95bn. And to meet the demand for strategic FM guidance, since 2006, there have been a number of standards published to support the European and UK FMd sectors. These standards provide best practice guidance at the operational and strategic levels.

Standards help facilities managers to safely operate and maintain equipment such as lifts and lighting, but should also be used to run facilities more efficiently, effectively and sustainably.

This free one-day conference will shed light on the standards available to FM professionals, demonstrate the benefits of using FM standards, provide case studies on real-life examples of FM standards in action, as well as give the opportunity to hear from industry experts. Standards covered will include BS 8210 Guide to facilities maintenance management, BS 8587 Guide to facility information management, BS 8572 Procurement of facility-related services, BS 8536 Facilities management briefing, BS EN 15221 parts 1-7 Facility management and BS 8544 Life cycle costing of maintenance.
