Construction

The government sees construction as a key sector of the economy so, with funding from the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills, we’ve developed a range of new standards for it. The overall aims are to encourage innovation in the construction process, to spread best practice in the use of materials, maintenance and general working practices, and to drive forward particular government priorities such as Building Information Modelling (BIM).

Here are some of the results of our work:

  • BS 8536:2010 Facility management briefing – code of practice. Click here to see a video where FM expert Brian Atkin talks about the benefits of the standard.
