White’s Motors awaits Hampshire Business Excellence awards result

White’s Motors, one of Hampshire’s best known automotive garage repairers, is anxiously awaiting the result of the county’s Business Excellence Awards for 2006.

The company, based in Southsea, Hampshire, is one of a number of companies in the area seeking recognition for its outstanding achievement in the field of service improvement and has been boosted by its recent adoption of the Garage Services Kitemark® from the British Standards Institution (BSI).

White’s Motors has entered the New(s) Business Excellence Awards under 3 categories: Small Business of the Year, Team of the Year and Business Personality of the Year. The winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the Portsmouth Guildhall on January 18, 2007.

Simon Wright, owner of White’s Motors said: “Gaining the Garage Services Kitemark® is probably the most important thing that I’ve ever done. Turnover has increased, organizational weaknesses have become easier to correct, staff motivation is better and our service is more consistent.”

The Kitemark® Automotive Service scheme was set up by BSI Product Services after an independent survey found that service levels in car service sector were unacceptably low. The Kitemark® scheme is a voluntary third party scheme set up to allow automotive service providers to benchmark their service delivery, build customer loyalty and provide the motoring public with the means to identify garages with a commitment to service quality.

In a sector that has not enjoyed the best of reputations over the past decade, White’s Motors have truly shown their commitment to raising service levels in automotive repair and providing their customers with fair, honest and good service – time after time.
