New BSI facility in Delhi will help India's businesses succeed

October 6, 1999

Companies in India have gained a major boost with the official opening of a new facility in Delhi for management system registration by the UK-based global quality assurance leader BSI.

Offering local organisations independent registration of their management systems, BSI India can help them prove they are top-class companies with high-quality management systems in place.

In addition to ISO 9000, the international management system standard, BSI India also provides local access to accredited registration for QS-9000, and ISO 14001, the internationally recognised standard for environmental management systems.

A BSI certificate is recognised internationally as a passport to world markets and improved efficiency. Almost any organisation can benefit. Whatever the area of expertise, organisations are seeing real commercial advantages from the adoption of international quality management standards such as ISO 9000, and environmental management standards such as ISO 14001.

The opening of the office in India is the latest in BSI's rapid global expansion, and adds to its existing offices in the Asia Pacific region, including Japan, Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China.

BSI's new office in Delhi offers companies a local service for independent registration of their management systems to international standards.

Dr Vinod Jain, manager of BSI India, said: "This new facility will be a major asset for our clients, who include leading companies in India. We are already working with more than 60 clients throughout India."

Dr Jain added: "In today's international marketplace, we recognise how important it is to provide organisations with a 'one-stop' service locally, and through this new facility we can give India's companies local access to accredited BSI registration."

The BSI group of companies also operates commodity inspection services through the Inspectorate company at Calcutta. For inspection services please phone +91 33 466 0960
